Richard's Background:
I am a dedicated fitness enthusiast with a diverse background in sports including soccer, swimming, cricket, and volleyball. However, in 2014 I discovered CrossFit and immediately fell in love with the sport. Since then, I have accumulated an impressive list of certifications, including CrossFit Level 1 Trainer (CF-L1 Trainer), CrossFit Level 2 Trainer, CrossFit Olympic Lifting Certified, NCCP Olympic Club Level Coach, and First Aid, CPR and AED certified.
I have also gained valuable experience through numerous individual and team CrossFit competitions, as well as participating in the Provincial Olympic Lifting Qualifier. Furthermore, I am currently pursuing the Opex CCP certification to enhance my knowledge and skills even further.
In 2015, I found my calling as a coach and since then have dedicated myself to helping others achieve their fitness and health goals. In 2019, I founded One United People CrossFit, where I aim to share my passion and expertise with others. I firmly believe that fitness is an essential component of a healthy and fulfilling life, and I am committed to empowering others to reach their full potential through personalized coaching and support.
Carmen's Background:
I'm a dedicated fitness and nutrition professional with a passion for helping others lead healthier, happier lives. I'm equipped with several accreditations and certifications, which enable me to help clients of all backgrounds and fitness levels achieve their goals and improve their overall health and well-being. Whether I'm coaching clients in the gym, designing effective workout programs, or providing nutritional guidance, I'm committed to supporting my clients every step of the way on their fitness journey. My focus is on personalized attention and customized plans, and I'm dedicated to helping my clients achieve long-term success and lead fulfilling, active lives.
Michael's Background:
A competition enthusiast, I have always been passionate about sports and fitness! From a very young age, I have been involved in playing competitive baseball and basketball and have grown to love all types of activities such as running my first half marathon in 2019 and playing recreational football!
Since trying my first Crossfit class in 2020, I immediately became immersed, and maybe obsessed in the sport and how it challenges my fitness and personal growth. In 2023, I decided to embark on a new challenge and have dedicated myself to coaching and supporting members within our 1UP community. I strive to bring enthusiasm, positivity, and energy to the classes I coach.
I am committed to helping everyone pursue their own fitness goals whether that is through competing or working on the basics, while also making sure to not forget to always celebrate accomplishments big and small while always having fun throughout the journey!
